Weekly five exciting hands on your mobile phone or tablet
What is the EBU Bidding Contest?
The EBU bidding contest is an initiative of the English Bridge Union, and is organized by bid72,
You bid with your own chosen partner and your preferred system, using the app bid72,
Every week on Monday five hands will appear automatically in the app on your (and your partner’s) phone or tablet.
You bid these hands with your partner, turn by turn. For every final contract you will receive points for the weekly and monthly ranking. You have until Sunday midnight to finish the bidding.
Every Monday you will receive an e-mail with an overview of all the hands, your own bidding sequences, your chat texts on the hand, the score table of the hand and the updated monthly ranking. In the app you will find a new set of five hands.
You can join anytime. The first time that you join, you will compete in the NEW group. After the first month, you will be placed in one of the groups (A, B, C …) with monthly promotion/relegation.
Make sure you bid at least fifteen hands in a month, otherwise your month score won’t count.
You can always stop or pause bidding and rejoin later.
What does it cost?
The EBU Bidding Contest is free for members of the English Bridge Union.
Every new player will also receive for free a three-week trial period, giving access to all other functionality of the bidding app. With this access you can bid an unlimited number of hands. When the three weeks are over, access to the app will be limited to the five weekly hands of the bidding contest only.
So if you only want to bid the five hands of the EBU bidding contest and nothing else, just wait for the new hands every Monday and ignore the e-mail offer that we will send you. The offer in the e-mail will explain that you can subscribe to the unlimited version of the app for € 2.99 monthly or € 24.99 yearly.
